In Wednesdays 7-2 loss at Waterloo in game #1 of the OUA quarter-finals, Lakehead senior forward Matt Caria received a match penalty for head checking Waterloo freshman forward Brett Mackie.
That penalty called for an automatic review, and the OUA review panel has suspended Caria for two games, with the suspension to be served starting immediately.
Caria will miss game #2 at Lakehead on Friday night, and if the series advances, he will have to sit out game #3 on Saturday night as well.
