Lakehead Thunderwolves’ sophomore forward Daniel Del Paggio (Thunder Bay, ON) is on top of the Molson Cup standings heading into the Christmas exams break with 12 points.

Molson Cup points are awarded to the three stars after every Lakehead Thunderwolves home game.  5 points are awarded for a first-star selection, with 3 points for a second star and 2 points for a third.

Senior goalie Nic Renyard (Victoria, BC) is just two points behind Del Paggio in second place, followed by sophomore forward Cooper Leitch (London, ON) in third place with 8 points.

Freshman forward Tomas Soustal (Sternberk, Czech Republic) with 7 points and sophomore forward Scott Gall (Morden, MB) with 6 points round out the top five.

As the mid-season Molson Cup points leader, Del Paggio will receive a prize pack courtesy of Molson Canada.

The Molson Cup will be awarded to the regular season points-leader before the Wolves’ first home playoff game in February.  The top three players in the Molson Cup final standings will all have their names inscribed on the trophy.

Del Paggio has played in all 21 games this season and leads the Wolves in goals with 9 and has added 8 assists for 17 points.  That puts him in second place in team scoring behind Gall, who has 18 points (6 goals and 12 assists).
