Scott Dobben scored Lakeheads first and last goals as the Thunderwolves mens hockey team eliminated the York Lions from the OUA West Division playoffs with a 6-2 game three victory, Saturday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay. The fifth-year senior from Drayton, Ontario added two assists in the game, winning first star for his efforts.

Dan Speer (Thunder Bay), Jordan Smith (Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario), Mark Soares (Burnaby, British Columbia), and Andy Hyvarinen also scored for Lakehead which got a solid 34-save effort from freshman netminder Alex Dupuis (Thunder Bay) who earned his first playoff win in a Thunderwolves uniform.

Both of Yorks goals came off the stick of MacKenzie Micks on a night when a 36-30 shots-on-goal advantage was not enough for the Lions.

The Thunderwolves will wait for three divisional playoff games to unfold on Sunday before learning who and where they will be playing in the West semi-finals which kick off on Wednesday night.
