A five-point night by freshman Kris Hogg led the No. 8 Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team to an 8-3 win over the Royal Military College Paladins Saturday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay. The Wolves go to 14-3-1 in conference play (18-7-1 overall while RMC is now 7-12 in OUA play.

Hogg contined his hot offense picking up 2 goals and 3 assists Saturday night to go with a hat trick in Lakeheads 8-2 win over RMC Friday night. Assistant captain Tobias Whelan also remained hot; adding a goal and 3 assists Saturday to his goal and two assists recorded on Friday.

Brad Priestlay, Matt Maisonneuve, and Andy Zulyniak each had a goal and an assist with single tallies coming from Mike Wehrstedt and Mark Soares. Richard Molenaar added two assists.

Roman Srutek had a strong game for the Paladins; notching a goal and 2 assists. Single goals came from Ian Miller and Michael Soros.

Lakehead freshman netminder Kyle Moir took the win while RMCs Adam Briggs was hit with the loss. The Wolves were 2-7 on the powerplay while RMC scored all their goals with the man advantage; going 3-5.

The game was much faster and entertaining than Fridays match; and although RMC played a much better game; Lakehead too picked up its game and the result was similar to Fridays. Lakehead outshot RMC 33-16 on the night.

The Molsons Three Stars, as chosen by Bryan Wyatt of CKPR FM Radio, were:
1)Lakehead: Kris Hogg
2)Lakehead: Tobias Whelan
3)RMC: Roman Srutek

The Wolves return to action next weekend at home when they welcome former Head Coach Pete Belliveau and his Windsor Lancers to the Fort William Gardens for a key divisional series.
