Freshman forward Billy Jenkins received two OUA awards following an impressive debut season with the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey team.

Jenkins was selected to the OUA West All-Freshman team in addition to being named the OUA West Most Sportsmanlike Player.

This is the second year in a row that a Lakehead player has garnered the Most Sportsmanlike Player award, as former Thunderwolf Mike Hammond received the same honor last season. The only other Thunderwolf to be named the MSP was Joel Scherban, who won it three times during his OUA career.

Jenkins scored 11 goals and added 13 assists for 24 points in only 24 OUA games played this season. Including non-conference play, Jenkins totaled 27 points to lead the Wolves in scoring despite missing seven games during the 2015-16 campaign.

The native of Ottawa, Ontario was assessed zero minutes in penalties the entire year.
