The Lakehead University Thunderwolves hockey program announced the 2017-18 season roster, and the team will carry 27 players consisting of 16 forwards, 8 defencemen and 3 goalies.

The squad comprises 1 fifth-year senior, 6 seniors, 8 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 8 freshmen.

The 16 forwards are seniors Austin McDonald, Dylan Butler, Trevor Hynnes, Brennen Dubchak and E.J. Faust; juniors Billy Jenkins, Matt Alexander and Sam Schutt; sophomores Zack Whitlock, Devin Fullum and Grant Valiquette; and freshmen Daniel Del Paggio, Brett Wolframe, Josh Laframboise, Scott Gall and Cooper Leitch.

The 8 defencemen are senior Tyler Anton; juniors Dillon Donnelly, Jake Ringuette and NCAA transfer Callum Fryer; sophomore Patrick Murphy; and freshmen Jonathon Masters, Aaron Wesley-Chisel and Joseph Leonidas.

The 3 goalies are fifth-year senior Justin McDonald, junior Devin Green and junior NCAA transfer Nic Renyard.

Lakehead Coach Bill McDonald said "I'm excited about the team we have this year.? We have several good additions, some with local ties, and a couple of former NCAA players that we were fortunate enough to recruit.? Combined with our returnees, it makes for an interesting team that should have a lot of depth. That creates competition which is good for a team. I'm looking forward to the getting the season underway to see what we've got."
