The Lakehead Thunderwolves will host the Brock Badgers to kick off the second half of the OUA regular season this weekend with the opening face-off set for 7:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights.

The Matchup

Lakehead: 8-6-1 OUA (6th place West Division), 10-10-1 overall (4-7-1 home, 6-3 away).
Brock: 8-8-1 OUA (7th place West Division), 9-10-1 overall (5-6 home, 4-4-1 away).

Last Time Out

Lakehead swept the Nipissing Lakers by identical scores of 4-2 in the two-game Christmas Challenge series at the Fort William Gardens on December 29-30.

Both games followed the same formula on the score sheet, with the Wolves jumping out to 3-0 leads before the Lakers closed the gap to 3-2. Lakehead responded with the insurance marker shortly thereafter on both nights.

Brock hasnt played since December 2-3, when it split a pair of home games. The Badgers fell to Laurier 4-1 on the Friday before shutting out Carleton 1-0 in double overtime the following evening.

Series History

Lakehead has dominated the all-time series with Brock with a record of 27-9-2 versus the Badgers.

The Thunderwolves travelled to Brock twice last season, edging the Badgers both times; 3-2 in early December and 4-3 in late January.

About the Badgers

Brock University is located in St. Catharines, Ontario, and the Badgers are led by Head Coach Murray Nystrom, a native of Thunder Bay.

The Badgers scoring is done by committee as forwards Adam Lloyd, Andrew Radjenovic, Sammy Banga, Brody Silk and Chris Maniccia are all double-digit point getters, while Skylar Pacheco anchors Brocks defensive brigade.

Freshman goalies Adam Beukeboom and Alex Brooks-Potts have both seen significant playing time, but junior Clint Windsor has posted by far the most impressive numbers with a 2.11 GAA and a .953 SV%.
