Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey has unveiled the 2017-18 schedule and will open the season at home on September 29 & 30 with a two-game series against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.

The Thunderwolves will remain at home the following weekend to take on the Concordia Stingers.

Other OUA conference opponents coming to Thunder Bay this season include the UQTR Patriotes, Brock Badgers and Toronto Varsity Blues in the fall term, with the Windsor Lancers, Western Mustangs and York Lions visiting during the winter semester.

The Thunderwolves will take on the Guelph Gryphons in the Christmas Challenge on December 28 & 29.

Lakehead will close out the regular season at home with a split-series versus the Waterloo Warriors and Laurier Golden Hawks on February 9 & 10 respectively. This will mark the first time in team history that the Wolves will host two different opponents on the same weekend.

The OUA scheduling format has reverted back to include more intra-divisional matchups to enhance rivalries and decrease the distances that teams have to travel. For the past four years, the Wolves played 18 regular-season games versus West Division opponents and 10 against East Division foes. This season, Lakehead will play 24 games versus West Division rivals and only four against teams from the East Division.

The complete schedule can be viewed on the teams official website, thunderwolveshockey.com.

All Lakehead home games will once again start at 7:00 p.m. Season tickets will go on sale at the Gardens box office in mid-August.
