Lakehead will meet Windsor in OUA West Division finals

The Lakehead Thunderwolves will take on the Windsor Lancers in the OUA West Division finals beginningThursday night when game #1 of the best-of-three series will be played at the South Windsor Arena. Game #2 will be playedSaturday night at 7:30 at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, and if necessary, game #3 will also be played in Thunder Bay on Sunday night.

Last Time Out

Lakehead swept the Ryerson Rams in two straight games in the West Division semi-finals, winning the first game 7-0 at Ryerson, and then finishing the Rams off with a 5-1 victory at home.

Windsor advanced to the finals by defeating the Western Ontario Mustangs two games to one in the other best-of-three semi-final series.

Series History

Lakehead holds a decided edge in the all-time series with Windsor, with a record of 38-14-0 versus the Lancers.

The Thunderwolves travelled to Windsor for a pair of games this past January, splitting the weekend with a 2-1 win on the Friday, followed by a 3-0 loss in the Saturday rematch.

About the Lancers

Winsor finished fourth in the OUA West Division with a regular season record of 17-11-0, just three points behind the Thunderwolves in the standings.

The Lancers most dangerous scoring threats are Spencer Pommells, Drew Palmer, Evan Stibbard and Mac McDonnell. Defencemen Kenny Bradford, Christian Steingraber and Julian Luciani anchor the Windsor blue line, and netminder Parker Van Buskirk handles the bulk of the Lancers goaltending duties.
