Lakehead Athletics and Thunderwolves hockey is very happy to announce that the Lakehead Thunderwolves will be playing the NHL Legends Wednesday, April 5th at 7:00 pm at the Fort William Gardens. The Legends, led by NHL great Bryan Trottier (Hall of Famer and Stanley Cup winner), will consist of Billy Smith (Stanley Cup Winner), Glenn Anderson (Stanley Cup Winner), Dale Hawerchuk (Hall of Famer), Gary Leeman (Stanley Cup Winner), and Gaston Gingras (Stanley Cup Winner). Local hockey greats Walt Poddubny, Mel Angelstad, and Jason Firth will also be suiting up for the Legends.

Trottier said he and the Legends are looking forward to playing the Wolves and to visiting Thunder Bay. Were really excited to come up and take part in the spirit of sportsmanship and to play a quality hockey team like Lakehead. We were talking about the Lakehead game and to be honest were a little nervous about playing a bunch of fit young fellers but were up for the challenge and it should be a lot of fun for the players and the fans and should be a game with a lot of pace. Were also looking forward to experiencing the hospitality of Thunder Bay and we hope this can become an annual event.

Tickets are 12 dollars for adults and seniors and 6 dollars for students and children. There will also be 50 special Legends VIP Passes which will entitle the VIP to watch the game from the VIP booth, receive a special autographed t-shirt, and also access to meet and greet both the NHL Legends and the Lakehead Thunderwolves. These special passes will cost 60 dollars.
