Lakehead Athletics, Thunderwolves Hockey, and Head Coach Don McKee are very proud to announce that forward Scott Dobben will be joining the Wolves for the 2008-09 season. Dobben has already spent one year at Lakehead redshirting for the Wolves, helping the team in the media box during home games, and working hard in the classroom and now he is ready to make an impact on the ice for Lakehead.

Dobben played his junior hockey for the Erie Otters and the Soo Greyhounds of the OHL; twice having 30 goal seasons. He was drafted in the fourth round by the Ottawa Senators in the 2002 Entry Draft. The Drayton, Ontario native spent three seasons in the AHL, ECHL, and UHL before attending Lakehead this past year.

Lakehead Head Coach Don McKee said Dobben should be an impact player for the Wolves. Scott has had a year to get well established in his kinesiology degree. He practiced regularly with the team last year and his off ice training has kept him in excellent shape. He is totally recovered from an injury that he suffered in his last year of pro. Scott was a great junior player, and brings valuable pro experience to the Thunderwolves which will make him an impact player in university hockey. His quick feet, productive hands, and solid team play will strengthen the Wolves' attack both offensively and defensively.

Dobben said he is ready to get back on the ice. Im really excited to get back and playing again. Its been a long year watching from the press box, knowing I couldnt participate, but I think its made it a smoother transition coming back to school. While seeing the team we had this year and the chance to win a National Championship in our own back yard; this next season is going to be a lot of fun and something Im really looking forward to.
