Lakehead University and the Thunderwolves hockey team are pleased to announce that Jonathon Masters has been added to the roster.

The 6-foot, 200-pound defenceman from Thunder Bay played five years of junior hockey, bookended by stints with the Thunder Bay North Stars of the SIJHL. In between, he suited-up for the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL and the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL.

Thunderwolves Head Coach Bill McDonald said its great to have Jonathon joiningthe squad for the upcoming year. "Hell be a big part of our defensive unit." McDonald said. "I like the experience he gained playing in the major junior leagues, plus he showed that he has some offensive skill with the North Stars last season. I think he has great character and Im looking forward to coaching him.

Masters, who is already enrolled in the Business program at Lakehead, is excited to be joining the team. I watcheda lot ofThunderwolves games while I was growing up, and now I'll be on the ice as one of the pack, he said. It's a great opportunity and a challenge to play at the university level. I hope to contribute as a gritty defenceman who takes care of his own end, but also feels comfortable jumping into the play.
