Thunderwolves honored at Lakehead Athletics Awards Ceremony

Senior forward Mike Hammond was recognized twice, while Brennen Dubchak and Mike Quesnele received major awards at the Lakehead University Athletics awards ceremony held at the law school auditorium on Saturday afternoon.

Hammond was chosen as the teams most valuable player as well as the Wolves best offensive player.

Lakehead University male freshman athlete of the year honors went to forward Brennen Dubchak and fifth-year senior defenceman Mike Quesnele was the recipient of the Argus award, given to the student-athlete that combines outstanding play with community involvement.

Jake Wright was selected as the top freshman for the hockey team. Other individual award winners for hockey went to junior forward Kelin Ainsworth for best work ethic and freshman defenceman Justin Sefton for best defensive player.
