The Lakehead Thunderwolves are travelling to Southern Ontario for a three-game road trip beginning with a game in Guelph where the Wolves will take on the Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.  The team will then head to Toronto for a pair of games against the Varsity Blues, with the opening face-off set for 7:00 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Recent results

The Thunderwolves are on a three-game winning streak, with the last two coming at the expense of the Royal Military College at the Fort William Gardens last weekend.  Both were close contests, with Lakehead edging the Paladins by margins of 4-3 and 4-2.

Guelph dropped two home games last weekend, losing by identical 3-1 scores to both Carleton and Ottawa.

Toronto also went winless at home, falling 5-3 to McGill last Friday, but the Blues did collect a point in a 5-4 overtime loss to Concordia on Saturday.

Coming into the weekend, Lakehead has a record of 4-2 in conference play (8-3 overall), good for fourth place in the OUA West Division standings with a game in hand over all of the other teams in the division.

Guelph and Toronto are tied for seventh place in the division, two points behind Lakehead with identical 2-3-2 records in conference games.

Historically, Lakehead holds a decided advantage over both of its upcoming opponents with an all-time record of 34-14-2 versus Guelph and 17-5-2 versus Toronto.
