The CIS No. 5 Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team lost 6-3 to the visiting Waterloo Warriors Friday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The loss gave the Warriors a weekend sweep of the series; the first home sweep of the Wolves this season.
Lakehead goes to 16-6-1-1 in OUA play (22-9-1-1 overall); while Waterloo now has a 15-5-0-2 OUA mark.
Scott Dobben had a pair of goals while Brock McPherson tallied the other Lakehead marker.
Chris Ray led the Warriors with a hat trick while Sean Roche added a pair of goals. Dave Philpott added the other Waterloo tally.
Pier Pelletier notched his fifth win in six starts for the Warriors while Kyle Moir took his sixth loss of the season (8-4-1-1). Pelletier even registered an assist on the night. Shots on goal were 35-34 Waterloo.
Both squads were 1-3 on the powerplay.
