Williamson Scores goal in Bombers 8-3 Allan Cup Loss

Ex Lakehead player Tyler Williamson scored one of three Thunder Bay goals as the Bombers dropped their Allan Cup Canadian SeniorMen's championship tournament round robin opening game by an 8-3 score to the Mid West Islanders of Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan.

Ex Thunderwolves Cory McEachran started the game in the net for Thunder Bay but was replaced after letting in five goals.Joe Ritson added two goals for the Bombers. Russ Hewson and Brent Salzleachhad a hat trick whileMike Thompson and Serge Lajoie added singles for the Islanders.

Thunder Baynow has a 0-1 mark in round robin play whileMid West goes to 1-0. All six teams (Thunder Bay Bombers, Mid West Islander, Montmagny Sentinelles, Can Am Cobras, Horse Lake Thunder, and Lloydminster Border Kings)in the two pooltournament will make the playoff round with the winner of each pool getting a bye into Saturday's semi-final while the other teams will play crossover pool quarter-finals.Thunder Bay plays Montmagny from Quebecon Wednesday at 6 p.m. EST.
