The No. 8 Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team skated to a convincing 8-2 win over the Royal Military College Paladins Friday night at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay. The Wolves go to 13-3-1 in conference play (17-7-1 overall while RMC is now 7-11 in OUA play.

Lakehead was led by freshman Kris Hogg with 3 goals, Dan Speer and Brock McPhersonwith a goal and two assists each, and Andrew Brown, Mark Soares, and Pierre-March Guilbault with a goal and an assist each. Mike Wehrstedt added two assists.

Paul Bradley and Richard Lim scored for the Paladins; both on fine individual efforts. Lakehead netminder Chris Whitley turned aside 24 RMC shots to get this 10th win of the OUA season against no losses. Lakehead outshot RMC 34-26 on the night.

The Wolves went 1-4 on the powerplay while RMC was 1-5.

The Wolves controlled the play for much of the game and fired a lot of shots over and by the net. RMC had a few good scoring opportunities in the second during a powerplay but Lakeheads Whitley denied them. Whitley made a great save off RMCs talented Bradley early in the third as well. The game began to get rough in the third and ended on a few small melees between the Wolves and the Cadets.

The Molsons Three Stars, as chosen by Leith Dunick of Thunder Bays Source, were:
1)Lakehead: Kris Hogg
2)Lakehead: Dan Speer
3)Lakehead: Brock McPherson
