The Lakehead Thunderwolves will host the Ryerson Rams at the Fort William Gardens this Friday and Saturday for a crucial pair of games against a division opponent. Game time is 7:00 PM both nights.

Last Time Out

The Wolves took on the Carleton Ravens last weekend and split the home series by edging the Ravens 3-2 in a rough and tumble affair on Friday, but then fell 8-2 the following night.

Series History

Lakehead is 12-2-0 all-time versus Ryerson, with both teams getting a win when the Wolves travelled to Ryerson in split trips last season. Lakehead got a 3-2 win in October 2014, but the Rams nipped the Wolves 5-4 last January.

Playoff Push

With an OUA record of 3-11-4 (7-13-5 overall), Lakehead is presently 6 points out of a playoff spot with 10 games remaining in the season (all against division opponents), so every game becomes that much more important for the Wolves post-season chances.

About the Rams

Located in downtown Toronto, Ryerson University plays its home games in a completely refurbished, albeit down-sized Maple Leaf Gardens, now known as the Mattamy Athletic Centre.

The Rams are led by Head Coach Graham Wise, now in his 10th season at Ryerson. Prior to that, he spent 19 years behind the bench of the York Lions, making him the dean of OUA coaches.

With 14 freshmen in the line-up, Ryerson is an extremely young team. With a league record of 9-10-0, the Rams currently sit in 6th place in the OUA West Division, 8 points ahead of the Thunderwolves.

Ryersons most dangerous scoring threats are forwards Michael Fine and Daniel Clairmont, while Alex Basso leads the Rams defence.

The goaltending duties have been split between fifth-year senior Troy Passingham and freshman Taylor Dupuis, but Passingham has put up the better numbers so far this season.
