For the second time this month, the Lakehead Thunderwolves are travelling to Southern Ontario for a three-game road trip beginning with a game in Guelph on Thursday night.  The team will then make a short jaunt to the Kitchener-Waterloo region for a tilt with Laurier on Friday night before finishing up at Waterloo on Saturday.

Recent results

After six straight wins, the Thunderwolves dropped a pair of home games to the York Lions last weekend, losing by scores of 5-2 on Friday night and 4-2 on Saturday.

The Guelph Gryphons went 1-1 last week, losing 2-0 at Laurier on Thursday night before winning 3-1 at Waterloo on Saturday.

In addition to its win over Guelph, the Laurier Golden Hawks also defeated Toronto 4-1 on Saturday to pick up two wins last week.

Waterloo went winless in its two games, but the Warriors did collect a point in a 5-4 overtime loss to Ryerson on Friday night.

Series history

Lakehead holds the advantage over all three of its upcoming opponents with an all-time record of 35-14-2 versus Guelph, 33-26-0 against Laurier and 37-23-2 over Waterloo.

Guelph is the only of these three teams that the Thunderwolves have already played this year, with Lakehead taking a 3-1 victory at the Gryphon Centre on November 1.

Lakehead had opposite outcomes in its matches against Laurier and Waterloo last season, as the Wolves won all three games versus Waterloo and lost all three versus Laurier.

Division Standings

Coming into this weekend, Lakehead is in fourth place in the OUA West Division with 14 points.  Guelph and Laurier are tied for seventh place with 8 points each, while tenth-place Waterloo sits at the bottom of the standings with 7 points.
