JOEL SCHERBAN - Head Coach
Joel Scherban is in his third season as Head Coach of the Thunderwolves. Scherban is a graduate of Lakehead University with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Masters of Science in Business Management.
Scherban played five seasons for the Thunderwolves, from 2001 to 2006, and led the team to the playoffs each season. He also helped lead the Wolves to a Queen's Cup championship and CIS silver medal in his final year.
He was the winner of the Sullivan Trophy as the top player in CIS hockey in 2004-05, and won the RBC OUA Top Student Athlete Award in 2005-06. He was a CIS First Team All Canadian, two-time CIS and OUA Most Sportsmanlike player, a five-time OUA First Team All Star, and OUA MVP. Scherban is also the Thunderwolves all-time leading scorer.

MIKE BUSNIUK - Assistant Coach
This is Mike Busniuk's second season with the Wolves. A Thunder Bay native, Busniuk was an assistant coach in the American Hockey League for 15 years, the last 6 of which were with the Binghampton Senators. He has also previously been a Head Coach in both the Western Hockey League and the United Hockey League.
After playing 3 seasons of NCAA hockey for the Denver Pioneers, Busniuk was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1971. He went on to play 8 years in the AHL, and 2 more seasons in the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers where he reached the Stanley Cup finals in 1980.
JEREMY ADDUONO - Assistant Coach
Jeremy returns for his second season with the Wolves, and will focus on the forwards and the power play units.
Adduono has extensive playing experience, starting with the Jr. A Thunder Bay Flyers of the USHL. He then played three years in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves and one year with the Canadian National Team. As a professional, Jeremy played four seasons in the American Hockey League and another seven years in Europe before returning to Thunder Bay in 2010.
DARRIN NICHOLAS - Assistant Coach
Nicholas has extensive coaching experience outside the Thunderwolves including the Thunder Bay Kings Minor Hockey program and the Thunder Bay Flyers Junior A team. He also served as regional scout for the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL.
Nicholas is married to wife Keri and has two sons, Evan and Nolan who are both stick boys with the Wolves. He enjoys golf, music, and movies in his free time.
COLIN ZULIANELLO - Assistant Coach
The Thunder Bay native played for the Thunder Bay Flyers Junior A team and Colorado College of the NCAA. After graduating, he was signed as a free agent by the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes and then played four seasons of professional hockey in both the American and East Coat Hockey Leagues.
Zulianello is currently working on his Masters Degree in Education while coaching with the Thunderwolves. Colin enjoys getting out on the links for a little golf in the summer, and plays guitar in his free time.
