The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey program is pleased to announce that former forward Carson Dubchak has signed a contract to play professional hockey with the Kansas City Mavericks of the East Coast Hockey League.

Dubchak played in 161 games over five seasons with the Thunderwolves, tallying 42 goals and 59 assists for 101 points during his time at Lakehead. He also racked up 432 penalty minutes, second all-time after Mike Quesnele in program history. His best campaign came last season as a fifth-year senior, when he finished second in team scoring with 30 points in 33 games.

"Carson is a heart-and-soul type player," said Mavericks head coach John-Scott Dickson. "He plays with tenacity. He's tough to play against and his compete level his high. We're excited to add him to our team."

"I am thrilled to be a part of the Kansas City Mavericks," said Dubchak. "After talking to Coach Dickson I was able to understand the support that both the city and staff give to its players in order to be as successful as possible on the ice. I am eager to be a part of such a quality organization and look forward to helping the team win."

Dubchak graduated from Lakehead with a Bachelor of Education degree last spring.
