A pair of teams on two-game winning streaks will meet when the Lakehead Thunderwolves clash with the Brock Badgers at the Fort William Gardens this Friday and Saturday, with the opening face-off set for 7:00 PM both nights.

The Matchup

Lakehead - OUA record: 2-3-1 (4-5-1 overall)
Brock - OUA record: 2-3-1 (2-5-1 overall)

Lakehead and Brock (along with Guelph and Windsor) are currently tied for fifth place in the OUA West Division.

Recent Results

Lakehead swept the Waterloo Warriors on the road last weekend, winning 5-1 on Friday followed by a 3-2 victory in an overtime shootout the following day.

Brock put together back-to-back impressive performances at home, blanking Windsor 4-0 last Friday before knocking off Western 5-2 on Saturday.

Series History

Lakehead holds a decided edge in the all-time series with Brock with a record of 27-11-2 versus the Badgers. Brock won the last two contests at Lakehead however, defeating the Wolves by scores of 5-2 and 4-2 at the Fort William Gardens last January.

About the Badgers

After losing six games in a row to start the season (including non-conference), the Badgers reeled off a pair of wins at home last weekend and will come into the series with Lakehead carrying some momentum.

Head Coach Marty Williamson is in his first season at Brock, replacing Thunder Bay native Murray Nystrom who stepped down last June after 18 years behind the Badgers' bench.

Historically not an explosive team, Brock does has legitimate scoring threats in forwards Chris Maniccia, Adam Lloyd and Matt McLeod. Rearguards Jeff Corbett and Dexter Weber head up a sound defensive unit, and netminder Clint Windsor continues to be a stalwart in the Badgers' goal, posting a .935 save percentage so far this season.

Peak Performers

The Thunderwolves have benefitted from outstanding play between the pipes as goalies Nic Renyard (.923 SV%, 2.65 GAA) and Devin Green (.935 SV%, 1.89 GAA) have posted very solid numbers thus far.

Offensively, Lakehead's line of Dylan Butler, Scott Gall and Brennen Dubchak continues to produce as the trio are ranked 1-2-3 in team scoring.
