Total Hockey Skills Improvement Schedule- Developing the key skills of skating, stickhandling, puck control, passing and shooting

Power Skating Schedule

Junior Wolves Elite Pee Wee AA/AAA camp ScheduleA week in the life of a Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey player
There is only space for 23 players (12 forwards, 8 defencemen, and 3 goalies), on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The camp will be run like a real Thunderwolves hockey practice, with Coach Scherban giving hands-on instruction throughout the on-ice portion. The off-ice training will focus on proper training techniques designed for hockey players.
The camp includes transportation from P.A. arena to LU Hangar, a jersey with a personalized namebar, a secure room at the arena (so the player’s equipment can be left there all week) and gatorade upon arrival at the hangar.
This camp is only for players born in 2000 or 2001, currently playing at the AA or AAA level.
Daily Schedule
8:15am Players dropped off at Port Arthur Arena.
8:30am - 9:00am Players dress while Coach Scherban goes over practice layout, drills, and daily expectations.
9:00am - 10:30am On-ice portion.
10:30am - 10:45am Players get changed and bus to LU Hangar.
11:00am - 12:15pm Off ice training at LU Hangar.
High Performance & Condtioning Schedule
Designed for more advanced or experienced players, with specific coaches and instruction for goalies, forwards and defencemen
- High tempo drills (1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3)
- Conditioning drills to improve cardio fitness
- Contact drills to develop physical play confidence
- Read and react game situation drills
- Drills introducing individual and team tactics
- Full ice games and corrections
- Goaltender Review and practice all technical aspects
- Defensemen Offensive / Defensive responsibilities in all 3 zones
- Forwards Offensive / Defensive responsibilities in all 3 zones
Featuring Chris Whitley (former Thunderwolves All-Star goalie)
One hour per day on-ice and one hour per day dryland conditioning and drills
Drills for improving:
Positioning, stance, angles, lateral movement, conditioning, tracking the shooter, controlling rebounds, reacting/positioning for 2nd shot opportunities, puck handling and passing, skating skills, game preparation.
