Scherban Named OUA Outstanding Player; Richards and Lodge First Team All Stars

Lakehead's Joel Scherban was today named the winner of the Bill L'Heureux Trophy, symbolic as the most outstanding player in the entire OUA Conference. Scherban was also the OUA West Division MVP and named an OUA First Team All Star for the fourth consecutive season. By winning the L'Heureux Trophy, Scherban is the OUA's nominee for the CIS Joseph E. Sullivan Trophy, which is given to the most outstanding player in CIS hockey.

Joining him as a First Team All Star was linemate Jeff Richards who was selected for the second consecutive season, and was last year's winner of the L'Heureux Trophy. Also selected to the first team was defenseman Erik Lodge who was a second team All Star in 2001-02 as well as a member of the OUA and CIS All Rookie teams.
