The Lakehead Thunderwolves will host the University of Quebec-Three Rivers Patriotes this Friday and Saturday at the Fort William Gardens, with the opening face-off set for 7:00 both nights.

Lakehead opened its OUA regular season last weekend at Laurier, where the Wolves were swept by the Golden Hawks. After falling 8-3 on Friday night, the Saturday rematch was much closer as Laurier edged Lakehead 2-1 in an overtime shootout, giving the Wolves one point in the standings.UQTR played a home series against Nipissing last weekend and swept the Lakers with a 4-3 overtime win on Friday, followed by a 5-1 victory on Saturday.
Series History
UQTR is one of the few teams in the OUA to hold a winning record over Lakehead, as the Thunderwolves are 6-14 all-time versus the Patriotes.The most recent meeting between the two squads took place in Three Rivers, Quebec in October of 2015. The Patriotes took both games that weekend, winning by scores of 4-2 and 6-1.
Line Production
Lakehead's line of Dylan Butler, Brennen Dubchak and Scott Gall has been dynamite so far, as the trio are ranked one-two-three in team scoring.About the Patriotes
UQTR is always one of the top teams in the East Division, and is often found in the top ten national poll. The Patriotes have won the OUA Queen's Cup championship three times in the last five years.This season, the Patriots are a very young team with 13 freshmen on the roster, meaning half the squad has no prior OUA experience. Every player on the UQTR roster was born in the province of Quebec with one exception; Mathieu Lemay of Hawkesbury, Ontario. Many of them are products of the Quebec Major Junior League.
UQTR lost its top four scorers from last year's squad. Forwards Mathieu Lemay and Pierre-Maxime Poudrier are the Patriotes' top returning point-getters. One place the Patriotes do have plenty of experience is between the pipes. Netminders Sebastien Auger and Alexandre Belanger split time in goal last season and both return for another campaign.
