Lakehead University and the Thunderwolves hockey team are pleased to announce that goalie Nic Renyard has been added to the roster.

The 22-year-old native of Victoria, B.C., played NCAA hockey for the past two seasons with the University of Massachusetts and will have three years of USports eligibility remaining.

Previously, the 511, 195-pound netminder played four seasons in the BCHL before finishing up his junior career as a 20-year-old with the Okotoks Oilers of the AJHL. Following that campaign in which he posted a sterling 2.19 goals against average with a .924 save percentage, Renyard was named both the league MVP and top goaltender, as well as the CJHL Junior A player of the year.

Im excited to commit to the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey program. Renyard said. Im really looking forward to being a part of an amazing hockey community and winning a lot of games over the next few years.

Lakehead Coach Bill McDonald said that its great to have Nic join the Thunderwolves. With two years of NCAA hockey experience and some outstanding years in the B.C. and Alberta junior leagues, were excited that Nic has accepted our offer to come to Lakehead, he said. It looks like well have a competitive training camp as Devin Green and Justin McDonald are solid goaltenders, quality people and great teammates.
