Well, the atmosphere in the dressing room has been a little lighter these past few days. Mid-terms have come and gone, thank God, because you could have cut the stress at the rink with a knife. Don't ever let someone tell you that playing varsity hockey and going to school full time is easy. Us boys in the HB Commerce (Scherban, McCune, Duce & I)) have been having some late nights at the library lately, and I'm sure all the other guys have been busy too.

There has been some big breaking news within the team lately. Cory has finally put his old green and blue pads to rest. They provided him with stellar protection and puck stopping abilities for seven long seasons with seven different franchises. I am sure they will be missed, but we are happy to see him now wearing the Gold and Blue of LU.

The injuries are slowly, but surely, weeding themselves out. We have no word on Peter Cava yet, but all those nagging groin pulls and bad bruises are healing up nicely thanks to our weekend off. We did, however, spend some time at the Police department with our strength coach (Al Mackenzie) on Saturday. We played a little paintball, learned a little self-defense, and had a great time pushing each other around for a few hours.

Last weekend in London was a positive start to the season on the road. It was our first regular season win in London. Saturday night was hard to swallow with the Mustangs scoring in the last second, but we came home with a split and a much needed 2 points which will keep us in the hunt for first place in our division.
We see York this weekend. They should prove to be a formidable opponent. They knocked off Western this past weekend and are still undefeated this campaign. They have excellent goaltending and depth at forward and defense, much like ourselves, and will be prepared to play in Thunder Bay. Hope to see you all at the game!!
