The Blues/Dinos tilt was like watching three different games. The first was a wild one with each team scoring three goals. The second saw the teams play very defensively, and Calgary taking advantage of their opportunities to notch two. The third saw Calgary take control and then dominate play and score the period's only goal. The Dinos were lead by Ken Mckay with two goals and an assist, Josh Woitas with two goals, and Sean Robertson with a goal and an assist. Toronto's Ian Malcom lead the Varsity Blues with two goals.

Toronto's Ian Malcom opened the scoring at 6:58 of the first, assisted by George Trifon and Scott Johnson. Calgary's Sean Robertson replied with a nice wrist shot that beat Torontol's Jamie Bruno at 9:23, assisted by Travis George. Calgary's Ken Mckay made it 2-1 at 11:34, set up by a lovely pass from Robertson. Toronto evened it up at 14:17, when Malcolm notched his second on a breakaway, assisted by Johnson and Mark Hynes. Toronto's Steve Hoar made it 2-1 one on a nice backhander from the slot at 17:04, with assists going to Ryan Robert and Ben Barrett. Calgary tied it a 3 apiece at 18:44 on a goal by Bracken Kearns, set up by a beautiful cross ice pass from Ken Mckay.

The second period was very defensive with few offensive opportunities in the first 10 minutes. Calgary's Josh Woitas made it 4-3 at 11:20, assisted by Kristofer Kehler and Adam Loncan. Calgary's Mckay made it 5-3 at 19:53 when he whacked in a loose puck in a scramble in front of Toronto goaltender Jamie Bruno.

The third period saw both teams getting some good scoring chances in the first five minutes. Then Calgary took control of the game from the six minute mark, and Toronto seemed to run out of gas. Calgary's Woitas made it 6-3 at 7:49 to complete the scoring, assisted by Ian Constable and Kristofer Kehler. Calgary outshot Toronto 34-19.

The Three Stars, as chosenby me, were:
1) Ken Mckay - Calgary
2) Sean Robertson - Calgary
3) Ian Malcolm - Toronto

Calgary takes on Saint Francis Xavier tomorrow at 4:00 PM EST while Toronto will go up against Lakehead at 7:30.
