This match between two CIS Top 10 teams was no disappointment. It was a fast-paced evenly matched game that was very entertaining to watch. The game featured great goaltending by StFX's David Haun and Calgary's Tyler Nilsson. Calgary was lead offensively by Jason Boyd with a goal and an assist while StFX's Patrick Grandmaitre played another solid all-around game, notching the X-Men's lone tally.

The first period featured some close marking by both teams and neither couldgenerate anythingon the scoreboard. StFX's Grandmaitre opened the scoring at 10:39 of the second when he fired in a powerplay goal, assisted by Graham Power and Mike Smith. Calgary's Josh Woitas quickly replied at 12:08, assisted by Kristofer Kehler and Josh Yopyk. The Dino's Phillippe Choiniere made it 2-1 when he added a powerplay goal at 14:11 assisted by Jason Boyd and Patrick Tetley.

The third period again saw fast two-way hockey, with Calgary gaining the upper hand in play. StFX's David Haun made a great sliding pad save off Calgary's Jordan Walker who was parked all alone in front of the net at 7:40. The X-Men became rattled at this point and took a series of minor penalties that proved costly. Calgary Captain Sean Robertson scored at 9:36 on the powerplay, on a wicked blast from the point set up by Jason Boyd and Ken Mckay. Calgary outshot StFX 27-22 in the game.

The Three Stars, as chosen by CKPR Sports Director Bryan Wyatt, were:
1) Jason Boyd - Calgary
2) Sean Robertson - Calgary
3) Patrick Grandmaitre - StFX

Calgary (2-0 in Tournament play) takes on Lakehead (1-1) tomorrow at 7:00 PM EST while Toronto (0-2) will go up against StFX (1-1) at 4:00 PM.
