The Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey program is pleased to announce that Head Coach Bill McDonald has named Dan Bissonnette as Assistant Coach. Bissonnette will join fellow assistant Malcolm Sutherland who was hired earlier this summer.

This is Bissonnettes third tour coaching the Thunderwolves. He had previously worked under former Head Coaches Pete Belliveau, Don McKeeand Joel Scherban before moving on to coach the AAA Midget Kings.

Bissonnette played CIS hockey for the Lakehead NorWesters in the final years of the program (1982-1984), and then transferred to the University of Manitoba and played one season (1985-1986) for the Bisons.

Bissonnette and McDonald have a history together. Ive had the pleasure of working with Dan in the past, as he was my assistant with the Thunder Bay Senators team that won the Colonial league championship in 1993-1994, McDonald said. Hes very accountable and has a good knowledge of the university athlete. Most of all he brings a passion for the game, and I'm excited to have Dan working alongside myself and Malcolm Sutherland.
