The Calgary Dinos scored a 2-1 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues in the afternoon game of T Bay Tel Varsity Cup Day 3 action. The win lets the Dinos leave the tourney with their heads high as they end tourney play with a 1-2 record and out of the championship final. The Dinos played well in all of their three games but came up just short in their two losses; both by one goal. Toronto ends round robin play at 2-1 and had already qualified for Saturday's championship final against the winner of the Lakehead vs. Laurier Day 3Friday night game.

The Dinos controlled the game for most of the game but the Blues had a few good scoring chances of their own which required Dinos netminder Scott Talbot to be sharp. Calgary's goals came from Torrie Wheat and Paul Gentile while Alex Nagribianko replied for the Blues. The Dinos outshot the Blues by a wide measure, 38-22, and a bright spot for Toronto was the stellar play of their No. 2 goalie Neil Clelland who played an excellent game in goal; turning aside 36 Calgary shots. Toronto also rested their top two scorers, Anthony Pallotta and Simon Barg, in anticipation of Saturday's tourney final.

The Three Stars were:
1) Brett O'Malley: Calgary
2) Neil Clelland: Toronto
3) Paul Gentile: Calgary
