Chris Shaffer, #27, is a second year forward from Dryden, Ontario. Last year, he was the third leading scorer on the team. The second year general arts student is leading the team this year in goals (14)and total points (22). The hard-charging forward also leads the teams in hits.

MA: What are your thoughts on the team and the organization in this, its second season?

Shaffer: The team has lived up to our expectations so far, and the organization has shown that is committed to putting a quality team on the ice.

MA: What do you think are the differences between this year's team and last year's?

Shaffer: There is a lot more depth this year and we've also added some more skilled players to the mix.

MA: To what do you attribute your scoring touch this year?

Shaffer: I had a lot of scoring chances last year also, but this year the puck just seems to be going in the net for me. Playing with Lang and Adduono has also helped a lot.

MA: I noticed your Penalty Minutes are down this year also. Do you think you are a more disciplined player this year?

Shaffer: I don't know if I'm necessarily more disciplined, but I'm not getting caught as much this year.

MA: What aspect of the game do you enjoy more, scoring or hitting, and why?

Shaffer: I like both aspects of the game, but I think being physical is what gets me a lot of my scoring chances.

MA: What did you think about the team's play in the first half of the season?

Shaffer: I thought we had a great first half this year, but they're are always some things we can work on, so it can only get better!

MA: What do you think about the team's play at the Bell Canada Varsity Cup Tournament and against Alberta?

Shaffer: I thought we didn't play our best games in the tournament, although we did step it up for the final game against Calgary. Against Alberta, I thought we played very well in both games, even when we were missing some key players.

MA: Any predictions for the second half of the season?

Shaffer: I don't want to predict anything too soon, but the series against Western should be very interesting.

MA: Who is your favourite baseball player and why?

Shaffer: Mark Mcguire was my favourite player before he retired, because of the home runs he hit.

MA: Do you think you could take me in 1 on 1 foozeball?

Shaffer: Let's just say, I don't think you'd stand a chance!

MA: What do you really love about playing for the Thunderwolves?

Shaffer: The organization has been great, but I think playing in front of 3000 fans every game has been the best part.

MA: Do you have any message to the Thunderwolves fans?

Shaffer: I'd like to thank all the fans for their support from thebeginning. The rest of the season should be exciting for us and our fans as we take a run at our first national championship!
