With the London Knights tying the Major Junior Undefeated mark on Wednesday night with a record of 28-0-1 (tying WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings mark set 26 years ago), it may be of interest to our loyal Thunderwolves readers to know what the CIS undefeated marks are. Thanks to Steve "Mr. Stats" Knowles of the University of Alberta; following is a list for your reading pleasure. As you might guess, Alberta leads the list when last season they went 26-0-2 in regular season play and an incredible 40-0-2 overallbefore losing the second game of the CIS Nationals in Fredericton.

CIS Regular Season Undefeated Streaks (ranked by most games)

1) 2003-04 Alberta: 26-0-2 (the Bears were 40-0-2 overall before losing
their 2nd game at the University Cup)

2) 2002-03 Western: 24-0-0 (* the Mustangs did lose 2 games to Lakehead, but
ended up with 2 wins when Lakehead declared an ineligible player)

3) 2001-02 Western: 22-0-2

4) 1981-82 Toronto: 18-0-4

5) 1972-73 Saint Mary's: 21-0-0

6) 1975-76 Concordia: 19-0-1 (league: QUAA)

7) 1973-74 Toronto: 18-0-1

8) 1972-73 Toronto: 17-0-0

9) 1965-66 StFX: 14-0-0

The Lakehead Thunderwolves longest consecutive undefeated streak is 8, set in 2002-03 and the Wolves are now on a five game winning streak. The NHL mark was set by the 1979Philadelphia Flyers of Broadstreet Bullies fame, when they went 35 games without a loss.
