Lakehead Athletics and Thunderwolves Hockey are very proud to announce that CKPR Radio will be back for its sixth consecutive season of coverage of all Lakehead hockey away games; including playoffs.
CKPR Sports Director Bryan Wyatt will also return for his sixth season on the road calling all the Wolves action live. The sixth season will see a change as CKPR has changed from AM format to FM format and can now be found at 91.5 FM on the dial in Thunder Bay. The games can still be heard live on the internet at www.ckpr.com.
Wyatt said he is looking forward to the sixth season. It's a year of change on and off the ice, and excitement is in the air. New players and a new coach, and after the first five years on 580 CKPR, we will now broadcast the away games at our new home at CKPR 91.5 FM."
Thunderwolves Hockey Executive Director Jason Mallonsaid CKPR Radio has been a huge supporter of Lakehead hockey. We are very happy that CKPR is back with Thunderwolves Hockey for another season as these excellent away game broadcasts give our fans the chance to follow all of the action live on the road.
Thunder Bay Television reporter Jonas Gilbart will fill the game-hosting duties including the pre and post-game shows and intermissions. New to this years line-up is CKPR Radio reporter Christina Filazzola, who will be doing a regular intermission feature called Behind the Jersey; which will be a series of behind the scenes interviews with Thunderwolves players.
The first broadcast on CKPR 91.5 will be the Thunderwolves OUA regular season opener in Windsor as they will take on former Head Coach Pete Belliveau and his Lancers on Friday October 5th. It will be the first of fourteen regular season road games.
