Lakehead wins OT thriller 3-2 over the Guelph Gryphons
With Lakehead picking up the win it gives Lakehead Coach Andrew Wilkins win number 91 and top spot all time for Regular Season wins surpassing former Coach Pete Belliveau who had 90 (Previously it was said to be Andrew with 85 and Pete with 84 but a adding error was discovered and corrected).
Guelph would get on the board first with Nolan Dann finding the back of the net 5:00 into the first period. Lakehead would respond on the powerplay when Dalton MacGillivray would find the twine to tie the game up at 1-1.
There would be no scoring in the second period but the Wolves would take the lead midway through the third period when Malte Hasselgren would rip a JAmes Fuchs pass past Guelph's Olivier Ciarlo to take the 2-1 lead. Guelph would come back to tie it up at when Dylan Hudon would slip the puck past Carson Cherepak to even the score at 2-2.
In OT Olivier Pouliot would rifle a shot past Ciarlo to seal the win for Lakehead.
