Coach McKee and Jordan C. Smith to Speak at two regional minor hockey events

Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey head coach Don McKee and All Canadian defenseman Jordan C. Smith will be making two special appearances this week at two major Ontario minor hockey events in Thunder Bay and Marathon, Ontario.

They will first be guest speakers at the All Ontario AAA Pee Wee Championships banquet in Thunder Bay. The championships run from Monday to Saturday at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay and feature the seven top AAA Pee Wee teams in the province; including the host Thunder Bay Kings. McKee and Smith will be speaking at the Awards Banquet to be held Thursday night at the Da Vinci Centre in Thunder Bay.

Lakehead Thunderwolves Hockey is also supporting the Pee Wee Championships as the Wolves will lend their internet resources in the Gardens Media box to allow Hockey Northwestern Ontario to put out live stats for every game of the tournament and to give the media internet access. Lakehead Sports Information Director Mike Aylward and Sports Information Assistant Matt Prokopchuk have also volunteered to call all the action live as they will videowebcast live the two championships semi-finals on Friday and the bronze and gold medal games on Saturday; using Lakehead Hockeys video webcasting equipment. Various members of the Thunderwolves team will also beon hand at all games to choose the game MVPs for both teams. Coach McKee and Smith will then travel along the north shore of Lake Superior on Saturday to Marathon, Ontario to be guest speakers at the Telus Cup Western Canada AAA Midget Regionals; which will feature the best teams in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northwestern Ontario. McKee and Smith will speak at the West Canada banquet on Saturday night and also stay on and watch the finals on Sunday. The winner will represent the region at the Canadian Championships in the chase for the Telus Cup; symbolic of Canadian Midget hockey supremacy. The Regionals features the champions from Saskatchewan, the Manitoba champion Winnipeg Threshers, the Hockey Northwestern Ontario champion Thunder Bay Kings, and the host Marathon team; the Superior Eagles.
