Here are my thoughts on our first three game road trip of this 2003/2004 season:
We played two playoff type games vs the University of Western Ontario and we were very happy to gain a split in their tough Thompson Arena on Friday and Saturday. Both games were decided in the dying seconds and could've easily have gone either way.

The coaching staff had mixed feelings on our overall play and we do agree that the Mustangs have a formidable team and do possess all the elements to carry the OUA banner to the Nationals in Fredericton.

We do have to improve our defensive zone coverage on a consistent level, we were very lazy and soft at times and we saw how quickly the Mustangs made us pay for our lack of focus.

Our next opponent York will not be any easier, they were our toughest opponent in 2002/2003 as they defeated us 3-0 in OUA regular season play and then beat us 4-1 in Queens Cup semi finals; they have an excellent goaltender in Derek Dolson and a great balanced team, but most of all they play us tough and smart ...credit to their coaching staff as they never beat themselves. It also should be a great playoff type
series!!
