Cody Alcock became the first recruit of the Bill McDonald era when he committed to the Lakehead Thunderwolves hockey program today.

The 61, 190 pound forward from Oshawa, Ontario will be joining the Wolves line-up this fall.

Alcock played four years in the OHL with the Belleville Bulls, Oshawa Generals, and most recently the Kingston Frontenacs, where he was also named the teams captain.

He scored 53 goals and added 105 assists for 158 points during his OHL career. His best seasons were in Kingston, where he notched 47 and 43 points respectively in his final two campaigns.

Thunderwolves Head Coach Bill McDonald is excited that Cody has committed to Lakehead. Hes capable of adding some more offense to our team, as hes scored 20 or more goals in his last two seasons, McDonald said. I was very impressed with Cody when hewas in town on his recruiting visit, and its always good when you can add a player who has been a team captain, as it shows that he can be a leader both on and off the ice.

Alcock is looking forward to joining the Thunderwolves. Lakehead has a well-known hockey team, and I believe that this will provide me with the best opportunity to improve my game and develop as a player, he said. "Im interested in the Environmental Studies program, and I think that Thunder Bay is a great place to live, especially for someone who loves fishing, hunting and the outdoors as much as I do.
