Thunderwolves Hockey Proudly Announces Commitment of a pair of Sherwood Park
Defensemen: Tait Ross and Marko Stojkov

Thunder Bay, ON – The Lakehead University Thunderwolves Men’s Hockey Program is excited
to officially welcome two highly skilled defensemen to the Pack for the upcoming season: Tait
Ross from Coquitlam, BC, and Marko Stojkov from Mississauga, Ontario.

Tait Ross is known for his exceptional defensive awareness both off the rush and within his
own zone. Ross is a great penalty killer, and influences the game offensively through his skating
and ability to break the puck out effectively, making him a dynamic two-way defenseman.
Adam Sergerie, Sherwood Park President and GM and Lakehead alumnus (2008-2013),
commented on Ross’s commitment:

“We’re very excited for Tait. As a Lakehead alumnus, I can confidently say he’s heading to a
great school where he’ll receive a strong education and enjoy an incredible experience on the
ice playing in front of some of the best fans in U Sports. Tait is a high-character individual who
played a vital role for us both on and off the ice. We wish him all the best and look forward to his
continued success at Lakehead.”

Marko Stojkov brings a well-rounded game to the Thunderwolves, having played major junior
hockey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with Flint and currently logging heavy minutes for
Sherwood Park. Stojkov prides himself on taking on the opponent’s top players and thrives in
both defensive and offensive roles. With a powerful shot and keen playmaking ability, he
combines a physical, shutdown style with offensive upside.

Sherwood Park Head Coach Brennan Menard, a former Thunderwolves player (2009-2014),
praised Stojkov’s impact:

“I loved my time with Marko. These types of people don’t come along often. They impact your
team dynamic immediately and have the ability to change the trajectory of the team. A
cornerstone piece. He has elite habits on the ice and in the gym and will do whatever it takes to
win. He can be trusted in any situation. This is something I know fans in Thunder Bay will value
and respect. This is a very exciting recruit to get and I can’t wait to follow along.”
The Thunderwolves coaching staff and fans are eager to see how these two young defensemen
will contribute to the team’s success in the coming seasons. Their commitment continues to
build the foundation of a competitive program ready to take the next step in U Sport.
