Ex-Lakehead netminder Cory McEachran backstopped the Thunder Bay Bombers to a 5-3 win Saturday night to give the Bombers a 2-0 sweep of their Ontario Senior Men's Renwick Cup series vs. the Aylmer Blues. The win gives the Bombers a berth in the Allan Cup Canadian Senior Men's Championship tournamentrunning from April 19-24 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.

McEachran played another stronggame, his second win in two nights, turning aside 40 of 43 Aylmer shots in the victory. Other ex-Thunderwolves were key components in the victory as well. Tyler Williamson and Jeff Adduono picked up a goal each while Robert Hillier and Mike Jacobsen had an assist apiece.

Thunder Bay's other goals came from Neal Purdon, Barry Mckinlay, and Derek Levanen. Aylmer outshot Thunder Bay 43-37 in the game. Interestingly, Aylmer did not start future Western netminder Scott Dickie who had a fantastic game in Friday's 1-0 Thunder Bay win. Dickie cameinto the game later in the first after Aylmer starter Eion McInerney had let in 3 goals on 12 shots. Dickie again played solidly, stopping 23 of 25 Thunder Bay shots the rest of the way.

At the Allan Cup Tourney in Lloydminster, the Bombers will face offagainst the host Lloydminster Border Kings, The Horse Lake Thunder (Pacific champs), Quebec Montmagny Sentinel (Quebec champs) and theCan Am Cobras of Saint John, N.B. (Atlantic champs). The Central region champion, still to be determined, will round out the six-team field.

Best of luckto theBombers at the Allan Cup!
