Only weeks into his Lakehead hockey career, Swedish freshman Victor Anilane's impact is being felt across Canada. The forward was named CIS Male Athlete of the Week for his stellar five-point performance last weekend in the Thunderwolves' sweep of divisional foes, the Brock Badgers.

Anilane scored two goals in Lakehead's 4-0, Friday night shutout of Brock, following up with two goals and an assist in his team's tight 4-3 win on Saturday. Entering the weekend of play, Brock had allowed a paltry two goals per game and were undefeated in OUA play. His five points moved Anilane into a three-way tie as the OUA leading scorer through six conference contests, while the Wolves moved up to No. 4 in the CIS rankings and a two-way tie with the Laurier Golden Hawks for first in the OUA West Division.
