Lakehead University Athletics announced today that Fourth Year Thunderwolves hockey player Robert Hillier has decided not to play for the team this season. Hillier said he wants to try other things outside hockey. I guess it was just a personal decision to explore other areas of university life outside hockey. My situation on the team wasnt increasing and so I thought that this decision was best for me right now.

Head Coach Pete Belliveau said Hillier is a very respected teammate and player. Were very sorry about his decision. We, as an organization, want to thank him for his three years of service and effort for our team. He is an original Thunderwolf and the door will always be open to him.

The Thunderwolves open their OUA regular season this weekend in Waterloo against the retooled Waterloo Warriors.
