Lakehead University Athletics and the Thunderwolves hockey team are pleased to announce the addition of forward Thomas Frazee to the roster.

Frazee played the first part of this season with Bakersfield of the ECHL after attending an NHL training camp with the Washington Capitals this past September. He will be eligible to play for Lakehead when the Wolves face Carleton on December 29.

A native of Vancouver, B.C., Frazee played five full years of Major Junior in the Western Hockey League, and was the 11th overall pick in the 2005 WHL draft when he was selected by the Portland Winter Hawks. The 64, 205 pound winger also played for the Medicine Hat Tigers, Moosejaw Warriors, Regina Pats and Kamloops Blazers during his WHL career.

His best season was the 2010-11 campaign, where he scored 72 points while playing a split season with both Regina and Kamloops. For his WHL career, Frazee scored 77 goals and added 123 assists for 200 points in 336 games played.

Thunderwolves Head Coach Joel Scherban is pleased with the newest addition to the team. Were very happy with how the first half of our season has gone, and were excited to have Thomas join our already strong existing line-up, Scherban said. Thomas will add a unique blend of size, skill and experience to our roster for the second half of the season.

Frazee is very enthused about joining the Thunderwolves. "I'm really excited to start the New Year at Lakehead University, and I've heard great things about the program, he said. I have two good friends from my WHL days on the team in Jeff Bosch and Jason Grecica, and after speaking with Coach Scherban, Im convinced that Lakehead is the best fit for me. I'm looking forward to coming to Thunder Bay and helping the team in any way I can."
