Lakehead Athletics is very proud to announce that they will again be joining forces with the Alumni Association of Lakehead University for the 23rd Annual Scholarship Classic golf tourney at Chapples Golf Course on Thursday, Aug. 17th.
Lakehead varsity athletes such as Mike Self and Chris Whitley from Twolves hockey, Shannon Vellinga, Kathryn Ver Boom, and Julie Follis of Wolves womens basketball, and Chantelle Zanette of Thunderwolves womens volleyball will be on hand acting as tournament volunteers to help in the staging of this fantastic event.
This 9-hole best-shot tournament, sponsored by RBC Financial Group, is followed by a banquet awards dinner in the Residence Cafeteria at Lakehead University. The tournament will also feature a putting contest, prize raffle, and a silent auction. Registration is $100 a person, or $400 per team. The paid registration deadline is August 7, 2006. The event will be limited to 40 teams so register early as the tournament may be sold out before the deadline date.
This year the Alumni Association is proud to be able to designate a portion of the proceeds to the Bob Thompson Memorial Fund at Lakehead University in honour of longtime Lakehead supporter, varsity athlete, and alumnus, Bob Thompson.
