Lakehead back in the CIS Top Ten

A high-scoring weekend split with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks propelled the Lakehead Thunderwolves mens hockey team back into CIS Top Ten rankings as they claimed the No. 10 spot, the CIS announced, Tuesday. This marks the third week out of four that the Thunderwolves have been ranked in the top ten by members of the national media.

Head coach Joel Scherbans team won their Friday contest at the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay by a convincing 10-4 margin over the Hawks, before dropping Saturdays rematch 7-4. Laurier is currently ranked No. 9 with No. 3 UQTR, No. 4 McGill, and No. Western representing the OUAs other entries on the list.

New Brunswick retains their No. 1 position while Alberta stays locked at No. 2.
