The Lakehead Thunderwolves can catch there breath now that they have clinched the first round bye with a big 6-2 win over the Windsor Lancers.

With the win the Thunderwolves sit tied with Windsor for first place in the standings. If Windsor loses to Western in regulation on Saturday afternoon the Wolves would clinch first place in the conference and home ice through the playoffs.

In the second the Wolves kept the pressure on and Tyler Ho would find Ben Badalamenti in front of the net and he would bury a shot past Windsor's Nathan Torchia to put the Wolves back out in front.

Shortly after Griffen Fox would rip home a beauty to increase the Wolves lead to 3-1. Both teams would get multiple scoring chances in the period but Max Wright and Nathan Torchia would slam the door.

Windsor would strike quickly out of the gate in the 3rd when Sean Olsen would put one past Wright to cut the lead to 3-2. But the Wolves would come right back when Griffen Fox would get his second of the night.at 1:14 of the period.

Colin Van Den Hurk and Keighan Gerrie would both get empty net goals to seal the game for the Wolves 6-2.
