Lakehead earns a weekend split picking up 6-2 win over the Manitoba Bisons.
The Thunderwolves would strike first in the first period when Luke Janus would beat Cole Plowman for the early lead . The Bisons would answer back when Sam Borschowa would slip the puck past Carson Cherepak to even the score at 1-1 after the first.
It would be all Wolves in the first half of the second period as they would get goals from Captian Josh Van Unen, Josh Lehto, Olivier Pouliot and Riley Sharun to open up a 5-1 lead. The Bisons would cut into the lead with a goal from Grady Lane to make it 5-2. Lakehead would add one more in the second when Liam Whittaker would make it 6-2 after 2 periods.
The third period would be a rough one with both teams being assesed a combined total of 54 penalty minutes. There would be no scoring in the frame as the Wolves would pick up the 6-2 win.

Lakehead returns home to open up the regular season at the Fort William Gardens against the Guelph Gryphons on Friday Oct 3rd and Saturday Oct 4th with game time being 7pm both nights. Friday night will see the players being inducted on to the Lakehead University Wall of Fame be introduced during a pre game ceremony.
