The Thunderwolves needed to get a win to turn things around and they got it in front of a season high 3315 fans.
The Wolves got on the board a little over five minutes into the game on the Powerplay when Griffen Fox would take a Mc Neill feed and make no mistake about it beating Ontario Tech goaltender William DesMarais.
Ontario Tech would answer right back Sean Ross would beat Lakehead's Christian Cicigoi and quiet the excited fans.
The teams would exchange scoring chance in the period but both goaltenders would stand tall and the teams would head to the break tied at 1.
The second would continue to see the goaltenders making save after save and the crowd was most defintley into the game reacting to the great goaltending.
Ontario Tech would net a late goal when James White would wire a shot off the post blocker side and send Ontario Tech into the break up 2-1.
The Third would see the Thunderwolves ramping up the pressure and nine minutes into the period Joe Mack would take a pass from Griffon Fox and slip it between the post and DesMarais to tie the game up and send the greatest fans in the OUA into a frenzy.
The Wolves would continue to pressure and Greg Smith would center a pass to Jayden Wojciechowski and he would step into the slap shot and rip it past DesMarais to give the Wolves the lead and get the decibel level in the Gardens to a fever pitch.
Ontario Tech would quiet the crowd when James White would strike for his second of the game at 13:48 on the powerplay.
Both teams would get multiple scoring chances late in the period but the goaltenders would shut the door.
The game would need overtime to settle it. In the OT period both teams would get some great scoring chances. Ontario Tech's Cullen Mclean would get called for a trip and sent the Wolves to the powerplay. On the ensuing powerplay the Wolves McNiell would pick up the puck at the point and find Colin Van Den Hurk and he would rip a shot through traffic and beat Desmarais up high for the game winner and blew the roof off the Gardens when the fans went wild.
