Lakehead ends first half with OT win over Western.
In the final game of the first half of the season for the Wolves it was a back and forth battle with rival Western.
Western's Reed Morison would snap a Jack Tucker pass past Lakehead's Christian Cicigoi to open the scoring late in the first.
Lakehead would respond early in the second period when Kyle Auger would blast a Tyler Jette pass past Western's Myskiw. Lakehead's Griffen Fox would strike 1:02 later picking off a pass and streaking in and slipping the puck past the Western netminder to take the lead.
Western's Jake Gravelle and Riley Macrae would tally midway through the period to regain the lead.
Colin Van Den Hurk would respond ripping a Keighan Gerrie pass top shelf to tie the game up at 3 a piece.
Western would take the lead back near the end of the period when Sean Montgomery would strike to send the Muastangs into the break with the lead.
It would take Lakehead 19:45 into the third to tie the game when Olivier Pouliot would find Keighan in front of the net and he would make no mistake and send the game into overtime.
In overtime Spencer Blackwell would tally the game winner with :01 remaining blowing a wrist shot past Western's Myskiw.
