Lakehead falls to Windsor 4-2

 The Thunderwolves and Lancers came out ready for battle to determine who gets first place in the Western Conference in what was a playoff atmosphere in the Fort Willam Gardens.

 The Lancers would strike first on a Lakehead turnover that was picked up by Aaron Shaw and deposited into the back of the net 4:46 into the first period for the early lead. Lakehead would respond a little over 4 minutes later on the powerplay when James Fuchs would fire a Austin Peters pass past Max Donoso to send the 3085 fans into a frenzy and tie the game up at 1. Windsor’s Keegan McMullen would silence the crowd 4:30 later with a shot from the right side to put the Lancers up 2-1 after 1.

 The second period would see McMullen get his second of the game only 2:16 into the period for the 3-1 lead. Lakehead would answer back a little over 6 minutes later on the powerplay when Keighan Gerrie would find the twine to cut the lead to 3-2. The second period would end with a scurmish between the teams to set the stage for the third periiod.

 The third period would have the fans entertained as both teams woulod have a great scoring chances. Windsor’s Emerson Miller would ring a point shot off of the crossbar and Lakehead’s Pouliot would get a great chance at the left side of the net but was stonewalled by Donoso. Windsor would make it 4-2 with a pass from behind the net by Alex Cunningham to a streaking Ray Hamlin and he would beat Cicigoi. Windsor would hold on to win 4-2 and clinch top spot in the Western Conference.

 Lakehead will faceoff against the Brock Badgers in the first round of the playoffs. Playoff schedule to be determined.
